Will the file format for the U3 and the V7.0 desktop be the same? Will we have to choose between one or the other, U3 vs V7?

U3 release of eWallet v7.0 ?
I do not see a v7.0 for the U3 devices, are these devices not supported anymore? Currently I am using eWallet for Windows (U3 smart) v6.1.3.24746
will I be able to sink with the new v7.0 desktop ?

@Josh: We’re working on it, Josh. The main release is in progress and we’re getting a (final?) build of the sync patch later today.

I have been using eWallet since it’s release on the iPhone. I believe my total investment in the software including the desktop is under $30.00 The product has performed as expected and provided value well in excess of what I’ve paid. As a user of a large number of applications, paying for upgrades/bugfixes is a fact of life. Each user has to decide if the value offered in the product is worth the upgrade. I recognize that the upgrade for $10.00 is required but, the fee is small, for the value provided. I am amazed that we all go to the gas stations and spend close to $3.00 per gallon for gas but turn around and scream at the top of our lungs over issues such as this. The bottom line is the $10.00 that is being charged for the upgrade if very reasonable given the value provided people should get over it. I for one will gladly pay the upgrade charge.

@All: Also – I updated this post (see the original post). Part of the problem is that we REALLY thought we were perfectly clear on the upgrade stuff and we really struggled to figure out what happened here. Obviously (see the next post) we’re putting it together but it’s taken most of the day to get everything sorted out.

We have apologized – see my other blog post. At the same time, there are some things that truly are outside of our control and even if people blame us for them, I intend to remain honest about what’s causing them. We’re very sorry that these issues are causing problems for people and as I said in the other blog post we are working on solutions – even for the things that aren’t our fault.

“Second, release version 7 of eWallet for the PC ASAP and for a one day only charge $5 or some kind of concession to give all of us that were unfortunate early adapters a sense that you do give a hoot about your customers. ”

We’re already coming out with it ASAP (tomorrow morning) and we’re already working on a solution (see my other blog post.) And if we didn’t give a hoot about our customers, I’d stop reading all these posts. Reading this stuff isn’t my idea of fun, but I do it because I DO care about my customers.

But we’ve been given less than 9 hours to make things right. Perhaps if principle is the issue, consideration of our past conduct and an opportunity to correct the issue might be in order. Heck – even wait until we release to see what all the fuss is about – instead we’re being judged and executed before we even get a chance to make it to trial.

We ARE prepared. That’s why we’re releasing tomorrow morning. The main delay is that we always give reviewers an early chance to look at the software. They need at least 24 hours head start – we owe that to them. As for fixing things, as I said elsewhere, this all happened while we were gone! We don’t force people to work holidays so the only chance we’ve had to work on this is today.

Thanks! My challenge right now is that it feels like judgement was passed in those 167 posts over the weekend – long before we had a chance to even try to make things right.
