eWallet Viewer for Android is here!

Hot on the heels of our iPad eWallet release, I’ve got more exciting news for you today. Our eWallet Viewer is now available in the Android Market.

What exactly is eWallet Viewer, you ask? Great question. eWallet Viewer is the latest feature for our award-winning password manager, available to all eWallet owners who use an Android device. And best of all, it’s free!

If you own eWallet 7, you can use eWallet Viewer to access your wallet files on your Android device. Easily synchronize wallets from the Windows PC version of eWallet to your Android phone, and view them anytime, anywhere! And, of course, eWallet Viewer has the same level of security and encryption you’ve come to expect from eWallet.

Ready to get it? All you have to do is search the Android Market on your phone for “eWallet Viewer”. It couldn’t be simpler, right? And if you don’t own eWallet 7 for Windows yet, you can try it free for 30 days. You’ll be able to sync the wallets you create in the Windows version to your Android device for viewing. When you’re ready to buy, you can get eWallet 7 from our store.

UPDATE: You will need the latest Windows PC version (7.1.0.28501) of eWallet to see the Android device option in Sync Setup. You can download it here.

More details about eWallet Viewer, and some great screenshots of it in action, are right here on our site.

You know, I’m super-happy to see this release, but I cannot help but feel really, really slighted about eWallet for Mac not being released as of yet… it’s been 2 years now and still nothing other than the preview – which is OK I guess – but still….. Unless told different I’m left to conclude that the Mac version of eWallet has been delayed and put off by lack of resources – some of which were obviously devoted to this.

Don’t get me wrong – the android crowd deserves this release and it is much needed, but us Mac users have been waiting a LOOOOOONG time with little-to-no idea of what will actually happen and when.

We’ve been waiting in line with money to spend for far too long now….. but I must say congratulations – I’m happy to see movement and Ilium taking eWallet to new platforms – I just hope we can buy a Mac version *someday* soon.

It’s not the full version you’re waiting for Whitney, but we’re posting an update to the Mac preview tomorrow morning. Kevin is finishing up install tests as I type this.

Yipie. I am also eagerly awaiting that release. Hope this preview is a little more stable than the last one. However I appreciate that you folks let us have at least something.
    Thanks!

So how long for a full version? I hate to be a jerk, but I bought eWallet when it was released for the iPhone because there was a Mac version pending. I’ve been patiently waiting since August 2008, and there’s still nothing useful. I wouldn’t mind so much, if eWallet wasn’t the most expensive app I’ve bought for my iPhone ($10).

The idea that Ilium wouldn’t release eWallet for the Mac Until It’s Done was fine for a few months… or perhaps a year. But having nothing but a prototype version two years later makes me wonder if I want to sink any more money into eWallet. I’ve preferred Ilium’s UI since my old PocketPC version, but bottom line I just need an app that works.

This is very nice to get eWallet on Android. I’ve been using eWallet since early Windows Mobile versions and the only thing preventing me from completely switching to Android was eWallet. Now it’s here.

Awesome, finally ewallet on Android… I would love a full version but from a long time ewallet WM user (who switched to Android) this is still a great first step..

This is great news. I may be daft but I can not work out how to use this. Some instructions would help on opening your .wlt files rather than the demo file. l will raise a ticket…

Sorry worked out now, need to update to latest eWallet version and then get Android option in sync set-up.

Wow, thanks Ilium! This is just what I’ve been waiting for and I’ll install it a little later.

    Dear Ilium Team,

Great news about the Mac-Version. But I agree completely with Chris K’s statement. (Probably to no surprise as I have been complaining quite a lot lately!) This is just not good enough!

Fortunately for you, eWallet is by far the best application of its kind that I have used – in my opinion in some areas much better than 1Password, thus I am going to stick with eWallet.

I am happy to see though, that other long-time-users of eWallet are just as disappointed as I am.

Now, please get a full version of eWallet for Mac on the market so that we can ditch Windows for good!

Thanks, thanks, thanks. I was really waiting for this.

I’ll now buy the PC version as well, to keep my iPhone, iPad & Nexus One in sync.

I’ve been an eWallet user for years. Used in on my PC and on iPod touch. I installed this on my Motorola Droid as soon as I heard of this version. But the thing gives you NO CLUE as to HOW to sync with the PC. It just looks like a barebone demo with sample cards. The menu has only two options – “About” and “Lock Wallet” (the sample wallet, that is). There is NOTHING in the Help, all the “Get Started” card says is “Build wallets in eWallet on your Windows PC and then synchronize them to this device”. But HOW? I have v7.1 on my PC, but it’s got no “Android” option in the Sync Setup. So I can only ASSUME that you’re not supposed to use WiFi (like with the iPod touch), but to connect the Android via USB, and then sync to the SD card from the PC. If I am correct, then — Was that so hard to put in the Get Started???

Glad to have the eWallet viewer on my Droid (mobile wallet access is something I have been missing since migrating away from WinMo). I hope obvious updates/enhancements are under development:

-full feature (wallet/card creation and edit as opposed to simply viewing)
    -cloud based sync functionality

Thanks and keep up the good work.

    John
