Happy Monday! The eWallet 7 release is going GREAT. We couldn’t be happier with the response to this new version of eWallet. Thanks to everyone for the amazing feedback, the purchases, and the kind words! It was a LOT of work getting here and seeing how much people like it is just great. Thanks! (If this is the first you’ve heard of the release of eWallet 7, definitely check out the post here that gives all the details!)
And I’d like to repeat something: a special “THANK YOU” to everyone who has gone to iTunes and either added a positive review or updated a review! We really appreciate that!!! iTunes reviews really are very important and we’ve never seen reviews as a customers “job.” As a result, every review is an amazing favor so thank you to everyone for your support!
We released eWallet 7.0.1 last week- it’s an update that fixes a problem folks with non-English Windows installations ran into as well as an issue with unlocking the BlackBerry version. Sorry to everyone who ran into these but thanks to everyone who supplied us with the info we needed to fix them!
Re: SUPPORT ON THE BLOG
I just want to repeat something I’ve posted in comments. Although I do my best to answer any questions or concerns the come up in the comments, we really can’t provide tech support here. We do, however, offer email support with real people personally answering every email AND phone support with real people answering the phones. If you have a problem WE WILL HELP YOU! The one caveat is that we’re running a little behind due to the massive amount of interest in eWallet 7 so it may take us an extra day or so, but everyone will get a reply!
Before I close out this blog I’ll hit a few of the FAQs that are coming up…so read on after jump for the rest of the story…

Hey, everyone! The response to eWallet 7 is overwhelming. Thank you to everyone for your excitement about this new version of our flagship product! (If this is the first you’ve heard of the release of eWallet 7, definitely check out the post here that gives all the details!)
And I’d like to repeat something: a special “THANK YOU” to everyone who has gone to iTunes and either added a positive review or updated a review! We really appreciate that!!! Honestly – I can’t thank you enough – around here we DO NOT feel that posting positive reviews as a customers “job”, so we see every positive review as a kindness – thank you again!
On to the updates! The biggst update is this:
We fixed the BlackBerry unlock issue and the eWallet Crash for Non-English Windows Installations!
If you download the latest version from our site you’ll get the fix! Again – VERY sorry for the trouble there – like I said – rewrite an application from the ground up and you’re going to hit some snags.
If you want the rest of the details (some of which are repeats that I want to keep around for new visitors to the blog), read on after the jump!

Hey, everyone! As I mentioned in a previous post, this is the biggest release we have ever undertaken and it is extremely exciting. The response we’re getting from customers is phenomenal. Thank you to everyone for your kind words and support! (If this is the first you’ve heard of the release of eWallet 7, definitely check out the post here that gives all the details!)
And a special “THANK YOU” to everyone who has gone to iTunes and either added a positive review or updated a review! We really appreciate that!!! Honestly – I can’t thank you enough – around here we DO NOT feel that posting positive reviews as a customers “job”, so we see every positive review as a kindness – thank you again!
Needless to say, a release of this type is bound to have some hiccups and this one is no different. The following are issues we are currently working on or frequently asked questions. For all the details, read on after the jump!

We are extremely excited to announce that eWallet 7 has just been released. Not only does eWallet 7 include a completely revamped Windows PC version, a working preview of eWallet for Mac, and a host of new features, we’re working to create a new approach to selling mobile software.
Also – if you’re just coming back to the blog, make sure to read the update at the bottom of the post!

As some of you know, we made a bit of a screw up in our wording of the iPhone Sync Update message (we apologize for that – it wasn’t our intent to mislead anyone). As a result, our developers leaped into action and busted out a special build of eWallet 6 for Windows PC that lets you synchronize eWallet 6 on the Windows PC with eWallet 7 on the iPhone.
What Is It? A special version of eWallet 6 that lets you synchronize eWallet 6 on the Windows PC with eWallet 7 on the iPhone.
How Does It Work? Just download the file here and run the installer. If it asks for your registration code, your eWallet 6 codes should work. If you don’t have your eWallet 6 codes any longer, you can request them here. IF YOU INSTALLED eWALLET 7 FOR DESKTOP, UNINSTALL IT FIRST.
Who Need It? ONLY iPhone users who own eWallet 6 on the desktop and do not want to upgrade their desktop software to eWallet 7 need this. If you are upgrading to 7 or don’t own an iPhone. You do NOT need this.
So there you go! Hopefully this will help out the folks who got stuck with eWallet 7 on their iPhone. I’m pretty sure most people will want to upgrade to eWallet 7, but at least this way you’ve got a choice!
Thanks and sorry for the trouble!
Marc
PS: We did a bunch of testing and believe this should work fine, but please let us know ASAP if you run into any trouble! We’ll work on any issues immediately.

So in talking with folks about the upgrade to 7.0 issues, two commenters, Simon and Brett, were able to clearly point out something that I really do see as a significant problem. Our iPhone upgrade information read:
This upgrade requires the latest Windows desktop version to sync your data. If you bought the desktop version before August 30, 2009, you may need to pay for the upgrade. Visit our website for all the details.
Well that’s all well and good – but if you went to our site to make sure you had the right version, we tell you that the “latest Windows desktop version” is 6.1.4.
SO if you upgrade your iPhone, it should sync fine with 6.1.4 right? Wrong!
If you want the rest of the story…read on after the jump!

I’m in the middle of a major software release right now so I’ll make this quick. I apologize that I can’t respond to all your comments individually, but considering how many of them there are, that simply isn’t possible. So – let’s get started…
Thanks!
First let me say thanks to everyone who posted their support. We really appreciate it and we are working very hard to live up to your expectations. The new release is a pretty big deal and I think you’ll all like it. In fact I think you’ll REALLY like it. So thanks for your kind words and we hope you like eWallet 7.0!
eWallet 7.0 Will Be Out Tuesday
eWallet 7.0 will be out tomorrow morning. This was the planned release date all along and we’re sticking to it.
More after the jump!

It looks like Apple released the iTunes version of eWallet 7.0 before we were expecting it. We submitted it, hoping the release would hit around when we planned to do the desktop and other platforms’ releases – Tuesday of next week – but Apple surprised us and got the iPhone version into the App Store a little earlier than we thought they would.
We will have a new version of eWallet that will sync with the new iPhone version out first thing next week. We planned to release it Tuesday, but we’ll probably bump it up to Monday. If we don’t, we will get anyone who needs it an early copy.
If you haven’t yet upgraded your iPhone version, I’d suggest waiting until we release the desktop version. If you have you’ll be able to get the new version from our site from our site first thing next week. I promise.
Sorry about the problem!! And Happy Thanksgiving!!

Thanksgiving’s the one holiday I take seriously. I may complain a lot – OK, I do complain a lot – but I am always aware of how fortunate I am. And I always take time at Thanksgiving to think briefly about everything I’m thankful for. This year it includes:
- That I can still see and hear (despite needing help with both. But I’m thankful that the help exists and works).
- And that I can walk and breathe without any help.
- My fabulous and supportive boyfriend, who really hates when I do things like this.
- The internet. For all its problems, it’s still the best entertainment I’ve ever found.
- And of course, electricity, without which the internet wouldn’t be nearly so good.
- And while we’re on the basics, indoor plumbing and central heat.
- My wonderful eye doctor, who fixed my problem that no one else could even find.
- Showtunes, which make everything so much better.
- And mp3 players, which make showtunes even better (or at least more portable).
- And finally, that I’ve managed to go more than 12 years without working for anyone else. So thanks to everyone here, and everyone who’s reading this, who made that possible.

No, not the football team – the Fortis Academy Fire-Eyed Falcons! Lots of companies sponsor softball teams or bowling teams, but let’s be realistic – most of us over here haven’t touched a piece of sports equipment since Middle School. That’s why, when Lee asked us if we wanted to sponsor the Fortis Academy First Lego Legaue team, we said, “Sign us up!”
Every September FIRST releases the FLL Challenge for that season. This Challenge is based on a set of real-world problems facing scientists and engineers today. It has two parts that teams must complete: 1) Building a robot to compete in the Robot Challenge, and 2) Researching and solving a problem faced by real-world scientists and presenting their solutions. On Saturday, Fortis Academy’s Fire-Eyed Falcons will compete with 18 other teams in this region of Michigan to be one of 7 teams advancing to the Michigan FLL Championship in Dec.
If you want to learn more about FLL you can find information here:

So this weekend, keep your fingers crossed and give a cheer for our favorite FLL team!
