You Know You're a Geek When

You know you’re a Geek when you think you get jokes like this. Just from the headline. Or when you think LOLCode is just as funny as LOLCats. Or when you do something dumb and your left hand tries to -Z.

Today’s contest is: leave a comment below with an original example of how you know you’re a geek. Enter as many comments as you’d like - just as long as you don’t mind admitting how extra-geeky you are if your comments start piling up.

And Now for the Winners List...

Yesterday’s contest was all about making lists, and this morning at the office, we had to make a list of our own to decide the winners. I have to say, looking at some of the lists you guys have found, you sure do get in close proximity to some famous people! You should consider selling those lists on eBay.

Okay, seriously, on to the winners. The first prize of a $121 Amazon gift card, plus a complete package of our software and swag, goes to: Stefan (spmwinkel) for the LOLCats ten commandents. Anything in LOLSpeak just cracks us up, so there was no way we could resist!

The runners-up, who each receive a complete package of our software as well as some cool swag, are: David Bevan (for the secret agent list), Angela Blades(for God’s list #42), and Jefe (for MacGyver’s list).

There are two more winners for today, and because they’ve already won the runner-up prize listed above, we created a new prize for the occasion. Melvyn (for the Windows 7 development list) and bamhm182 (for Dr. Evil’s list) will each receive a $44 Amazon gift card.

ListPro Files of the Famous and Fictional

Imagine that you’ve found a handheld of a famous person, alive or dead, real or fictional, and that the owner was a ListPro user. What would be on their lists - packing, shopping, to-do, or others? Send as many items from a single list (that is, one list per entry) as you can think of. Again, send your entries as replies to this post, and enter as many times as you like.

Hats Off to You!

It’s been another busy morning here, filled with tough decisions as we tried to narrow down the photo captions to see who would win. First we should thank everyone for not being too mean or picking on us and making us cry - and with photos like that, I think we were prepared for the jokes. So, onto the winners:

The first prize of a $121 Amazon gift card, plus a complete package of our software and swag, goes to: Pony99CA who, inspired by Kevin’s photo, rewrote the song “Rudolph the Red-Nosed Reindeer”. How could we not be impressed by that?

The runners-up, who each receive a complete package of our software as well as some cool swag, are: Heather, Dianna, Leigh Ann, Melvyn, and MClark.

We even have an honorable mention prize to give away today. It seems that one of our MadLibs contests winners already owned ListPro, and was kind enough to donate his ListPro license back into the contest pool. Thanks Dave! Everyone Looks Better in a Hat

I’m convinced that everyone looks better in a hat. Not these hats, however.

We had so much fun with our earlier caption contests (here and here), that we can’t resist having another one. But rather than trying to caption yet another picture of the 9 of us standing outside our building, you get to caption a few of us as individuals. And to make it really easy, we’re wearing hats, wigs or masks.

The Blanks Have Been Filled In!

All right - it’s been a busy morning here at Ilium Software HQ. We’ve had a lot of news headlines to read through. All of them were really great, and, just as we suspected, many of them were weird and confusing. Some of them, however, actually sounded believable, didn’t they?

But, as with any contest, many will enter and few will win. However, we were only able to narrow it down to seven lucky people, because there were just too many good comments. So here it comes - one BIG winner and six great runner-ups:
