Screenshot Search-and-Find

binoculars1.jpgI don’t know about you, but I love scavenger hunts. And, because of that, I’ve decided that we will have another contest all about finding stuff on our site. Earlier this week I hid our anniversary party hat inside our website, but this contest is going to be a little different. If you think you can handle it, read on!

Here’s how it’s going to work: below are six questions. The answers to the questions can be found in the product screenshots on our website. The rules are similar to the last contest. The first THREE people who search our site and find TWO of the answers each are the winners. All you have to do is copy the two questions you’re answering (and your answers, of course) into the comments for this post. If you figure out more than two, please don’t post more answers – that way three people will have a chance to win. To win, you just have to make sure the questions you’ve picked haven’t already been answered in the comments.

The winners will all get Ilium Software swag packs – and, of course, the envy of all their friends! Be sure you supply a valid email address when you make your comment, because that’s the only way I can contact you when the game is done.

Ready? Great! Here are the questions:

  1. What is James Kirk’s online password for his Earthbank Visa?
  2. I like to get my holiday shopping done early. What gift did I already buy for Jeff?
  3. What did Woot have on sale on 2/20/2007?
  4. What is the number of James’ checking account? (hint: make sure you pick the one he uses for direct deposit!)
  5. What was the date I last ate at the MacaroniLand restaurant?
  6. How many votes short was Santo from getting elected to the Hall of Fame?

Good luck!

    Hi guys –

Wow – I thought this contest was going to be a little tough, but I guess not! There’s one screenshot that I’m really surprised by the answer to: both Johan and Aaron answered the same thing for the Woot sale from 2/20/2007, but that’s not what I see when I look at the screenshot.

Before I start awarding the prizes, out of curiosity, what page on our site did you guys find that screenshot? Before I give away the answer which I thought was correct, I’d like to find out – just in case there is still one question that has yet to be answered right…

  6. Aaron

Nevermind, should be a PNI Steeleye cordless rechargable radar/Laser detector (from woot)

  7. spmwinkel

Julie – I never said it was easy! :P
But of course this contest had more limits than the party hat search, since you won’t go looking for a VISA password in Newsbreak screeniew, you know you have to be at eWallet.

The trouble with these “first past the post” type contests are that they exclude those of us in extremely different timezones. All the contests on the blog have begun at around midnight where I am which means that by the time I wake up I’m the eleventh comment. Oh well, enough complaining! Congrats to all the winners and of course to the team at Ilium on their 10th anniversary.

Okay, all the answers are accounted for – congrats to Judy Dye, spmwinkel, and Aaron (who answered in 2 separate posts but did get both answers). I’ll be emailing you shortly to ask for your shipping addresses so I can send your prizes out!

Thanks to everyone who played – I’ll be posting another contest shortly, and I have the winners of the caption contest to announce as well. And Melvyn, you make a good point about time zones, so I’m going to try to come up with different rules for the next contest, if I can.
