What a Mess!

You may have seen my other post with a pic of how many PDAs there are on my desk. Well, there are still a lot of PDAs on my desk, and with all the support email and testing I do, it’s just hard to keep it clean:

A Messy Desk…

I’ve been trying to solve this problem for a while, and it’s compounded by a few things.

  • I need a lot of USB ports.
  • I need a lot of electrical sockets.
  • I need to be able to have people come and take devices away and bring them back.
  • I need it to be easy to use without getting in my way.

After a lot of finagling and a trip to the office supply store, I solved my problem with a box cutter, a mailing tube, and some shipping tape. (Why does this sound like the way MacGyver foils some enemy contraption?)

A clean desk!

Now, if only someone could tell me where I could get a 10 port USB hub…

About Kevin

My dad brought a laptop home from work one day when I was in 5th grade, and it was all downhill from there. I've owned Palm PDAs, Pocket PCs, Handheld PCs, and Windows Mobile Smartphones, and finally found one that I could settle down with. Hopefully. I also graduated from the University of Michigan here in Ann Arbor, with a B.S in Computer Science.

Hi guys, first, thank you for eWallet. I’ve been transitioning (albeit slowly) to it from ActionOutline all my passwords and other notes. I just feel more secure having an app that’s encrypted AND having an app that can come with me on my Moto Q (safely).

Also, fyi, I noticed you guys have a WordPress blog going and that’s fantastic. I urge you to append all the other needed pluggins as I noticed you just have just a base install of WordPress going at the time.

Some of the pluggins I would consider critical, like the “Share this” plugging is a great benefit to you as well as your users as they’ll be able to submit any articles to all the main “Social” sites very easily. Check out my blog http://www.webconsultingdc.com, I have it implemented there.

Another is the All in One SEO Pack is very important to make sure you have clean, SEO friendly titles/metatags. That one is a cinch to install, it just needs bit of explanation on how to use it effectively (not brain surgery).

Anyway, I’m sure you guys would rather be working on Illium apps isntead of fiddling with WordPress pluggins (I know I would), so let me know if you need a hand.

I have a 25 point checklist I go through very quickly to makes sure you got all the important stuff in place. It would take me two to three hours at the most to get all the needed ones in place and explain their usage to you.

Let me know if you need any assistance.
